Ancient Terrors: Volume 1

Gore and buckets of blood are not the same thing as horror and terror. True, they can be scary, but ever since the slasher movie became the standard for horror, it’s bled over into the book genre. These stories are not in the same vein. The stories picked for this collection depend on atmosphere, mood, and even the emotional baggage the reader brings with them to build up the scares, typically using their own background as fodder.
