Beth is new to Pebble Beach area. She and her new husband are starting their life together in the old cottage behind the lighthouse. Their family was not happy about them being together but couldn't give them a good reason why they shouldn't be married. They decided to take Beth's grandmother's offer for Beth to stay at the family cottage for the summer as a beginning of their life together. Garrett would start work as a fisherman. What Beth thought would be a long summer without her husband turned out to be a memorable adventure with her new friends. As they searched through the clues she broke down barriers and opened up family connections. At last she knew why her family was reluctant for her marriage to Garrett. She hoped the new information would help the Lady in White move on and for her family to accept them.
