This is the story of an engaging executive, James MacMillan, who is denied the ultimate promotion which he feels he deserves, namely CEO of National Fine Furniture and Upholstery, a large Canadian multinational. James vows that if he cant be CEO, he will find a way to leave his mark on the company, and he sure does! He orchestrates a series of acquisitions, strikes a deal with a corporate raider, and finds a way to get sweet revenge against those who denied him what he felt was his in the first place. What started out as a disappointment for James turns out to be a profitable blessing in disguise while his romantic life takes on an interesting and unforeseen twist. This is an easy-to-read story, with humour, romance, sadness, and a lot of intrigue as the hero finds a way to get even with the corporate establishment.
