The colors seemed tohypnotize her as she drifted off, the memories returning timeafter time, haunting her as she wandered back revisiting thepast. Each memory as vivid as the day her nightmares began."Here she comes," a chubby Marcy snickered."C'mon, let's get ready. We can act all cool like nothin'shappenin', and when she gets here I'll scratch my head, that'llbe my cue to grab her," Kitty directed, tossing her long, blackhair over her shoulder.Sara took short, quick strides as she walked across theparking lot unaware of her fate just moments away. A big smileadorned her face as she neared the crowd of teenagers; warmwith the feeling they were accepting her as a part of their groupof friends. She placed one hand above her eyes. The sun blindedher as she looked in the direction of her peers standing in theparking lot just a few feet away from her now."Boy there's lots of kids up here today," Sara thought."Hey Sara!" Mike, a tall lanky boy called out to her.Sara waved as she moved closer to the crowd of teens."Hi everybody. Thanks for inviting me up Crissy," said Sara."Yeah right," Crissy replied twirling her bubble gum aroundher finger and then popping it back into her mouth."Hey girl, let me see what ya got in them shorts?" a boy Danchuckled as he ran his fingers through his hair."Shut up ya stupid jerk!" Kitty snapped. "Don't pay no mindto him Sara; he's nothin' but a perverted retard."Sara smiled but she still couldn't fight the uneasy feelingthat was beginning to settle in the pit of her belly. They had notbeen a bit nice to her in the few prior months that she had livedthere. Instead she had been teased daily with hillbilly jokes, and heard the giggles while they deliberately bumped into her, passing in the hallways at school. She couldn't help but wonderwhy there was an unexpected change in their attitudes towardsher, now wanting to be sociable. She pushed the uneasy feelingaside and smiled. She wanted to make friends, and somehownow seemed to be the time to do that. She decided not to letsome boy's smart remarks scare her into walking away.Paul, a rather tall, well built, blonde haired boy walked overand placed his arm around Sara's shoulders pulling her close tohis side and whispered in her ear."Relax girl everything's cool." Then he cleared his throatand asked, "Ya got a boyfriend?""Uh no, I'm, uh ... well I'm really not allowed to date yet,"Sara responded nervously."Damn that's messed up, 'cause you ain't a half bad lookin'chick," Paul remarked as he dropped his arm from around herand stepped back."Really now, I heard ya got a crap load of boys hangin' outon your door step," Kitty teased."Yeah, that's what I heard," a boisterous Sandy blurted. The group of teens moved closer, forming a circle aroundSara. The voices became whispers, and Sara began to feeluneasy. Things didn't seem to be as friendly as she hoped theywould be. Sara decided to try and break the ice a bit by makingidle conversation."So, is there a party or something going on?" Sara asked."I guess ya could say that," Kitty remark with a Cheshire catsort of grin."Oh really, where's it at?" Sara asked."Where? Hmm, well ... I guess ya might say it's right here,"Kitty replied reaching up and giving herself a scratch on thehead, signaling the crowd that now was the time to deploy theirdevious plan.Suddenly Sara was rushed and knocked to the ground whilethe boys looked on. She felt the blows of being kicked andpunched repeatedly. The sound of laughter rang out as the boyscheered on the group of girls.Sara opened her eyes in efforts to regain her bearings. Shewas face down on the pavement and her belly scraped againstthe rough surface. Someone had a handful of her hair, pullingit hard and shoving her face down into the pavement. Thegrinding sensation with tiny bits of gravel burned at her cheeks. She tried desperately to pull her head up, and making an effortto fight the girl off. Suddenly she was punched hard and her eyebegan to swell. Her ribs ached from the repeated kicks to hersides."Why are they doing this to me?" Sara thought to herself, and wondered how long they would continue this act ofviolence against her."Ya stinkin' bitch!" Crissy yelled out."Yeah ya tramp, this'll keep your ass away from our guys,"Kitty added. Each girl yelled their obscenities at Sara as they kicked andpunched her, and the boys continued to cheer them on.A few minutes had passed before one of the boys yelled out,"Take it off!" The crowd began to chant over and over, "Take itoff, take it off!"Yeah get them drawers," Paul yelled out.Sara felt Sandy reaching beneath her, tugging clumsily atthe button snap of Sara's wrangler shorts. She knew full well ofthe intentions and began to struggle all the more."No!" Sara screamed franticly."Shut up bitch!" Kitty yelled out.Sara reached down with one hand hoping to hold on toher shorts while using her other to block the repeated blowsto her face. She grabbed hold tight to the top of her shortsand managed to slip her middle finger through a belt loop andlocked her fingers around the adjoining material. She could feeltugging at her pant legs and began to kick wildly."Noooo!" Sara screamed with panic.Sara kicked and flung her free arm aimlessly through theair. She began to lose control as her instincts went into defensemode. Her fist clinched tight laying a blow to Kitty's nosedrawing blood."Ya fuckin' bitch I'll kill your ass now!" Kitty screamed.Kitty stood up and kicked Sara directly in the head. Theimpact thrust Sara's head back into the pavement dazing her.Hands continued pulling at her shorts until they began to slidedown over her hips. Dizzy from the blow to her head Saraslowly opened her eyes and blinked. She could feel her shortsmoving down and over her knees."Noooo!" she screamed again.Sara had done everything she could to try to stop them, but it was clear she was fighting a losing battle. Her stomachknotted up as she felt her shorts slip over her feet. Tears rolleddown her burning cheeks. She didn't know if they were tears ofpain or embarrassment."Yeeee haw!" Kitty yelled out as she ran in circles swingingSara's shorts over her head, whipping them through the air asthe crowd looked on laughing hysterically. The hitting and kicking had stopped, but the pain of sheerembarrassment had settled in her. Sara's body ached from headto toe. She struggled to get a grip as she slowly pulled herselfup from the ground. She placed her hands over herself in anattempt to cover up. The crowd roared with laughter, eachmaking crude remarks."Shoo wee, we got the goods now," a red haired, pimplyfaced Clyde laughed.Sara looked down at her legs. She could feel the bloodtrickling down from the deep scrapes in her knees. Her eyesover flowed with tears as her heart pounded in her chest."Can I please have my pants back?" Sara pleaded with tearfilled eyes."Say what? You want what girl?" Kitty snapped."My shorts ... can I please have them back?" Saracontinued to plead."Awe, give the girl her damn drawers, she said please," a boyMark called out."So ya want these do ya?" Kitty teased as she waved Sara'sshorts through the air followed by a jig."Yes please, I want to go home now," Sara replied tearyeyed."Now ya sure these are yours, 'cause I could swear they wasmine? Yep, they look just my size," Kitty teased holding theshorts up and turning them from front to back."Shit Kitty ya better lose about 50 pounds to fit in themdamn shorts," Dan laughed with the others joining in to give achuckle."Up yours!" Kitty snapped, throwing up a middle finger.Sara stared directly at Kitty wondering if the group hadtheir fill of ill-gotten fun at her expense, and hoped Kitty wouldhand her shorts back to her so she could go home."Here take 'em," Kitty said as she held them out in Sara'sdirection. Sara stepped forward reaching to grab her shortsfrom Kitty. Just as her fingers touched the denim they wereyanked from her reach with Kitty laughing and swinging themthrough the air again."Ha ha, don't cha just wish," Kitty laughed out loud."Over here!" Sandy called out.As Kitty turned and tossed the shorts into the crowd Saralunged forward in an attempt to catch them in her hands, andmissing them by inches before someone else snatched themfrom her reach."Are you lookin' for these?" Tess laughed as she tossed themin the opposite direction into the crowd. They taunted Sara for what seemed to be an eternity toher, tossing her shorts back and forth, laughing as she trieddesperately to get them back."Hey let's see those tits!" Alex called out."C'mon let's get her!" Kitty cheered."No ... no, get away from me!" Sara screamed as she turnedto run.Within seconds her body was being pawed at over and overagain. The sound of material ripping sent an intense panicthrough her."Stop it, leave me alone!" Sara screamed as she tried to fightoff her offenders."Shut up ya stupid bitch," Kitty yelled punching Sara hard inthe mouth.Sara's dainty, cotton blouse came off in pieces. Kitty tossedthe shredded material out into the parking lot, and reached outgrabbing the back of Sara's bra ripping it from her body."Now that's what I'm talkin' about," a boy Jimmy yelled outas the others cheered on.Sara instinctively put her arms up over her small, roundedbreasts to hide herself. She was beyond embarrassment, andhoped that somehow this was only a bad dream that she wouldsoon awaken from."Oh look, she's shy," Crissy teased."C'mon girl show us those tits," Dan laughed."Get her underwear!" Tess yelled out.Within an instant Sara's panties were torn from her bodyand she was shoved into the crowd. The group of teens shovedSara back and forth from one boy to another, each taking histurn feeling the utmost private areas of her body. Her mindspun in circles as she began to lose touch with reality. Sarastarted to scream and flail her arms about wildly."Hey! What're you kids doing over there?" a voice yelled out."Holy shit it's the cops!" Dan yelled. The crowd departed with each taking off in a differentdirection, leaving the scene quickly to avoid the consequencesfrom their actions."Say one word bitch and you're dead," Kitty remarked as hegave Sara one last punch."Stop, all of you! I said stop!" the officer yelled as he jumpedfrom his squad car.He knew that he would never be able to catch up to allor any of them, and turned his focus to Sara who stoodshaking from head to toe with tears rolling down her face andmumbling, "I just wanted to be friends."The police officer ran over to Sara and shielded her bodywith his own. He guided her to his car, and pulling a smallblanket from the back seat he covered her naked body."Are you alright?" he asked.Sara stood in a state of shock staring into space. Howcould she have ever prepared herself for such an ordeal? Shetrembled from head to toe trying to grasp reality while anotherpart of her tried to block out the horrific event."Hey ... hey ... hey," the voice repeated itself. Sara felt awarm hand on her shoulder shaking her hard. She jumped, blinked her eyes and turned around."Are you okay?""Yeah ... sure, I'm fine," Sara replied."I thought we lost you for a minute there," her sister Susieremarked."Oh, I was just day dreaming.""You sure you weren't having a nightmare?""No, why do you say that?""You looked like you saw a ghost or something.""Nah, twern't nothin'," Sara jested realizing she was back toher present state.Sara smiled as she stretched her arms and legs. She pushedher hair back away from her face and yawned. Though she hadplayed it off that everything was kosher, her thoughts were thather sister Susie really had no idea how right she was. Sara hadbeen seeing those ghosts time and time again for more than tenyears now as they lingered inside her."Dinner's ready and Joe's a waitin'," said Susie."It's about time," Sara teased as she finished up a goodstretch and headed across the floor from the den into the diningroom."It took ya'll long enough, I was just about ready to eatwithout you," Joe remarked.Joe Douglas was a rather handsome, well natured man, sensitive and caring, a good hearted man raised with goodmorals. He was born the fourth of seven sons to Abigail andHubert Douglas, and grew up in Allendale New Jersey. Atseventeen Joe made the decision to leave home, and to makehis own way in this world. He was well aware of the financialstruggles his parents faced, and knew that his leaving wouldlighten their burdens. He had taken on every odd job he couldget working his way down to Washington DC. Eventually hewas hired full time at the Longfellow Construction Company, and was now working his way up with a small business of hisown.A year after he married Susie Blake he agreed to have hersister Sara move in with them. Sara had completed high school, and Susie thought it would be a good idea to have her sistermove in, and out from under their mother's wing. Sara hadbeen too withdrawn from everything and everyone the lastfew years of school. Susie believed that all Sara really neededwas a little boost to get out into the world. That she needed tofeel independent with a good sense of freedom, and to becomemore involved with other people. This was supposed to be on atemporary basis until Sara was able to stand on her own. AfterSusie explained things to Joe he was more than understandingof his wife's ideas."Hmmm, if you don't mind sharin' with your sister, I'mgame," Joe teased."Hey, I'm only willing to share the house, not my bed or myman, but I bet you wish," Susie remarked with a giggle, andthen threw open arms around his neck and gave him a big akiss. The only person left to convince was their mother. Therewouldn't be a bit of trouble from their father as he was far tooeasy going and agreeable to things no matter what they were.Susie and Sara gave every reason possible that they could thinkof as to why this was such a good idea. After more than an hourof listening to her daughters plea for Sara's independence Mrs.Blake gave in to their ideas on the promise that Sara would callher daily."Good grief Mama, it's not like she's moving to the moon,"Susie remarked."Just let the child grow up," Mr. Blake added.Sara had taken a job at local bank and moved in shortlyafter graduation. Ten years had passed and Sara was still there. The comforts of her life in her sister's home made it difficult toseparate from the lifestyle."Pass the peas pa-leeze," Joe chimed."Anything else boss man?" Susie asked with a grin."Indeed my dear, but I don't think the dinner table is a verygood place to be passin' it. Say there missy, meet me up in myoffice after dinner," Joe teased with a comedic impression."I swear, is that all men ever think about?" Sara asked."Why no ma'am, and if you ever gave some poor schmuckhalf a chance you might know that," Joe remarked with a grinon his face."Don't you believe a word of it Sara, all men ever thinkabout is sex, sports and booze, and not necessarily in thatorder," Susie said before giggling and shoving a piece of meatloaf into her mouth."Awe get outta Dodge Missy, we think about other stufftoo," Joe rebelled on behalf of the male race."Oh yeah, well clue me," said Susie. She couldn't help but tolaugh out loud now."Oh you know, the usual everyday things like, umm ... ohyeah, food, sleep and money, and not necessarily in that order,"Joe replied grinning from ear to ear.
