Layton Davis has a secret he can no longer keep. When the floods came to the little town of Burn Creek, Layton and his buddies hopped on their bikes for a roaring adventure. Their only problem was Arthur Cameron. Arthur was different than the other boys…Nobody wanted to be Arthur’s friend. All of the boys returned home from their adventure that night, except one. Layton and his pals made a pact to keep secret what happened to Arthur that day. Layton Davis has been running ever since.His time is almost up.

About the Author

Marc Merrill was born and raised in Yankton, South Dakota. Upon graduation from high school, he served in the 82nd Airborne Division as an Infantry Paratrooper. Reaching the end of his tour of duty in 1994, he received several decorations and an honorable discharge. After earning a bachelors degree summa cum in English and Theatre at the University of South Dakota, Merrill went on to attend the prestigious School of Cinema and Television at the University of Southern California, earning an MFA in writing for cinema and television. His first novel, The Homecoming, explored the 1992 murder of Yankton native Tamara Haas. Released in 2005, this book helped force the reopening of this long-cold case.
