Sessions with Isaac: The Second Encounter (Lurkers in the Dark...

Sessions with Isaac is the second book in the Lurkers in the Dark series by B.R.Smith. Bringing Isaac into the house had been a challenging adjustment for Jeffery Brighton. Jeffery, having been beaten, disfigured, and reduced to living a life he never could have imagined, could relate to the overwhelming uncertainty his guest was most likely experiencing. It brought back to Jeffery the memories of his own attack, the loss of his looks, his career, and the people he had once called friends. Jeffery had resorted to isolating himself in an attempt to hide his face from unwelcome stares and small-town gossip, choosing solitude for comfort. Maybe it was the loneliness that made him do what he did without so much as an objection in his mind. Maybe it was the rush of feeling something different after such a long time of despondent routines. Or maybe it was the thrill of having a secret to keep from others, a secret he kept behind a locked door, deep in the cellar, upon tarnished blankets. Every exploration begins with a first step, and Jeffery knew he was about to take his into that dark, damp hollow, following the wails of his new obsession.
