Kathy and Joe Williams take on the tenancy of The Highwayman coaching inn in Staffordshire. It is a new start after numerous attempts at IVF and two miscarriages. The pub is reputedly haunted by a charismatic highwayman Thomas Merrick. Kathy begins to see his ghost who looks the facsimile of her husband. Thomas Merrick however has an agenda of his own, taking a dark interest in Kathy. Her husband refuses to believe in the stories of Thomas and dismisses her concerns. Can they get through this together or will it lead to a tragic end for all of them?
