College fraternity brothers gather 20 years after graduation. They meet in Chongqing, China and delight in a mini-reunion. They proceed down the Yangtze River in a small boat on a journey into the unknowns of the majestic river as it proceeds toward the Great Dam and their own troubled past. They confront ill feelings carried for decades and talk of successes. A sorority sister is at the core of this discontent. A spirited tribal lady is a mysterious wonder who brings culture and enlightenment to all. The tumultuous past of the brothers is a metaphor for the Yangtze's struggle to reach the China Sea. It covers up antiquities and displaces people as it meanders toward Shanghai. Feelings, emotions and schemes are intertwined and unraveled as the ruthless river whirls them into secrets of its own.
