After the adventure of the tomes described in "Incident At Three Corners", Job Broward wanders the west as a mine assayer. Landing in Mexican Nuevo Mexico, he founds Broward's Junction, a stop in the road between Albuquerque and Mesitas. The Junction becomes a successful place, growing to include an opera house and theater, drawing people from both cities to performances.In the early 1900s, when the road is moved, James Broward builds a truck stop and calls it Broward's Oasis. Broward's Oasis stands, iconinc, for thirty years on Route 66 between Mesitas and Albuquerque until a woman who had fought for the third Reich blows it up in an attempt to kill Matthew Broward, the owner, in 1950.At the start of the 1980s, Timothy Broward returns to New Mexico, accompanying his mother on her final visit to the state she once called home. deciding to stay, he rebuilds The Oasis as just one truck stop in his new franchise of truck stops. the move calls Faustus Mephistopheles back and the little man begins causing trouble.
