The infamous businessman has invited only a single member of the press to a small reception on Christmas Eve in his private manor. The guests within make up a strange collection of characters all trying to hide dark secrets of their past dealings with Avalaude. Soon, a world of darkness and deviance is unveiled, as Anne must survive encounters with otherworldly beasts and the vile impulses of London's elite class.
