Benjamin Farrows hasn't decided to sell Calmers Island. He probably won't. But just considering an offer from a chemical company is enough. Hanley Rivers, an old family friend, warned Ben not to sell the island and--by all means--to stay away from it. Hanley should have known that was the wrong thing to say. Although island came into the Farrows' possession at the end of the Civil War, Ben hadn't ever visited or even thought of the island before this. Now he's obsessed with every detail. His search meets with subtle deception at first. Soon, however, Ben and his family are facing horrific acts of violence. Ben has no choice: He has to find the secret of Calmers Island. The safety of his family--their very lives--depends on it.
