The First Light follows character Michael’s tale of his birth and life in search of his true purpose in the world. It spans several decades and is augmented by the intimate exchanges between an angelic being and her master. The latter is out for blood, while in the process, proving that nurture may just be stronger than nature. The First Light begs the question Is it possible to be born evil? Michael asks himself this every day. He is essentially a demon, born in a ghastly, gory scene that left him without a mother and seemingly alone in the world. In steps the church, with a mother figure in the nun that nurtured him, and a father in the priest that disciplined him. However, Michael soon finds that the evil within himself is nothing compared the strewing bodies across that globe in search of him.
