Paint it black! Designer Bunpei Yorifuji darkens the iconic cover design in honor of the sinister "Class Cutter" - Kurosagi's longest story since Volume 2, inspired by one of the most infamous Japanese crimes of recent years. Can a girl who committed a brutal murder in grade school ever truly return to society... and why does Sasayama insist on dragging the Corpse Delivery Service into it?
From Booklist
Seven of the nine “deliveries” (chapters) of the new KCDS collection contain the longest story in the youthful paranormal detective troupe’s career. At its center is a teenage girl hiding under a new name at her old school because she is strongly, but not conclusively, suspected of murdering her mother. She didn’t, of course, but it takes quite an exciting while, capped by a last-minute rescue, for the KCDS to figure out who did. The other two deliveries concern a ghoulishly creepy athlete-doping case. All nine show off Otsuka and Yamazaki’s supernatural detectives at their amusing best. --Ray Olson
