HELL & other bad places

"Oh, God, please don't let it find me. Oh, God, please don't let it find me." I try to curl up even tighter, but if I move too much, it might hear me. The closet is deep and I've burrowed into the back with an avalanche of shoes, clothes, and boxes covering me. The only light I can see is a soft thin line indicating the bottom of the door. "Oh God, please don't let it find me." I can hear it out in the hallway thumping against the walls in that near crazy stumble. It's getting closer, closer. "Please God don't let it find me." I'm shivering in spite of the sweat pouring off of me. It's low wailing, a razor sharp sound, begins to penetrate my dark cocoon. The noise turns my kidneys to hot jelly and my blood to ice. "Please God, don't let it find me, Please God, don't let it find me, Please God, don't let it find me," over and over, thrumming through my head so loudly in the stillness of fear. I can taste blood from where I've bitten my lip to keep from screaming. "Please God, don't let it find me, Please God, don't let it find me." My heart is beating so hard I might get lucky and die before it finds me. I can't even begin to wrap my mind around what will happen if it finds me.
