I have read this damn diary of a dead man cover to cover. It begins with a quote that I love to hate yet agree with wholeheartedly. ‘When it comes to cruelty, you can be its victim or its master.’They are the first words written in the diary of one Duke Gillam Hammond, my ancestor. I can’t trace the family line back further than him; all records have either been lost or more likely destroyed over time not that it matters. The most important man in my family was and still is the Duke and all because he cursed the family and all descendants thereafter for a second chance at life the rest of us be damned. What An Ass Hole!Hundreds of years on a great family that shared his blood and name has been reduced to one. If you haven't guessed it yet that 'one' would be me, and I am dead set against being just the next in line to pump out a couple of kids so the Duke can be born again.I was prepared to fight alone, find a way to break the curse even though others smarter than myself, stronger than myself, more magically gifted then myself had tried and failed, when some girl barges her way into my life and home and damn well refused to leave. It doesn't matter that she's a natural, gifted with second sight an ability ripped open in her mind when she was possessed. This girl has issues and swears more then I do. If she sticks with me she will more then likely end up dead or possessed for a second time. And Lord save the world if that happens for she will be indomitable.
