About the Author

Lawrence Millman is the author of eleven books, including such titles as Last Places, Our Likes Will Not be There Again, An Evening Among Headhunters, and Lost in the Arctic. He has also written for, among other magazines, Smithsonian, National Geographic, Outside, and The Atlantic Monthly. Being an ardent mycologist, he would rather have a mushroom named after him than be remembered for his writing.
