About the Author
Marlene was born in Fredericton NB Canada in 1964. She was then taken to Barrie Orillia until she was five. Her dad passed away in 1969, and the family returned to Fredericton. She was raised in the country of Mactaquac. Marlene lived thirty miles into the woods, and enjoyed the tranquility. Her favorite place was down by the river shore. Otherwise, you would find her out in the woods. Her writing started when she was seven years old. She enjoyed writing short stories, and wrote many. At the age of nine, her brother showed her what a poem is. Then she knew, a short story could be made into a poem. Although, some subjects takes a story to get it all out. Marlene is, also, an artist, and feels art takes the mind off of everyday life. She took many years of drama in school. Marlene went from drama to acting. She did this through Ian Newton for one year. He was the producer for Snake Eater starring Lorenzo Lamas. Also, Marlene took one year professional singing with Anne Murray s first singing manager. She has two children, and both are girls. Marlene attended college in Edmonton from 1991 to 1993. She specialized in professional cooking, and biology. She left Edmonton to High Level Alberta, and took two years of computer programming. In 1995, she moved to Courtenay BC Canada. Here she went to college from 1995 to 2000 in office administration. Marlene left BC, and went to the USA. Here she took an arts course at the Minnesota arts institute
