PLAYING WITH FIRE: An Urban Fantasy (Essence of Tokpar)

Sparks fly when Arturo—the Tokpar people's finest combat trainer with supernatural gifts—meets a fire elemental with rage issues. Arturo meets Jill, a fiercely independent and fiery blond who explains to him that her “baggage” has followed her from a rundown ranch in Nebraska and must be dealt with before she can move on with her life. Arturo insists on helping, only to find that Jill mysteriously disappears the next day. Now Arturo must follow her to Nebraska. What he finds there is that Jill is not who she had thought, and her past problems have compounded in such a way that it is impossible to return to her life in New York City or to Arturo. Shortly after Arturo arrives in Nebraska, Jill disappears again. This time she has been kidnapped. Arturo knows the kidnapping is tied to her old baggage, and he must seek the assistance of the arch enemy of the Tokpar—Jedediah, leader of the Oidhche and the ultimate bad guy. Arturo is determined to untangle Jill’s past, but Arturo knows he will not get Jill back without at least one battle. He is more than ready.
