Ever since he was born, Arthur has dreamed of the freedom that lay outside his home village. Constantly bound by a curious decree, “Anyone who leaves the walls of the village will be punished by exile,” the longing of his heart is only satiated by an annual cosmic event known as the Night of the Red Sky, a celestial anomaly where a majestic red light consumes the stars. This year, as the people watch in frantic anticipation, the light never shines. In a panic, Arthur’s sickly father sets out on an unknown journey without explanation, leaving his family behind. The next day, a band of raiders attacks the village, slaughtering all in sight. When Arthur is discovered, the raider shows sympathy and regret for his actions, leaving the boy with a strange stone, a map, and the cries of his kidnapped mother beckoning his pursuit. With an infinite amount of questions and uncertainty, Arthur sets out past the walls of his village in search of his parents. The world he longed to explore becomes stretched out before him, though it is far more eldritch and wicked than he could have ever imagined. Loosely based on Irish and Celtic folklore, The Night of the Red Sky presents an epic journey full of mystery and characters ranging from bright and quirky to dark and fallen.
