A strange obelisk arrives from the west, floating impossibly in the sky and making its way east. Where it came from, who created it, and for what purpose is unknown. One man, the local lighthouse keeper, discovers that the obelisk has a mysterious influence on the dead. Since the monolithic tower’s appearance, he is visited by the spirit of his wife as she relives their shared tragedy.As the lighthouse keeper is consumed by illness, he struggles to balance his daily responsibilities with the nightly visits of his wife. As he grows weaker, the mysterious reason for her return is revealed. Meanwhile, the lightkeeper's only surviving family, his young nephew, struggles with starting his own life against honoring his family’s legacy.As the obelisk passes ominously close to their village, the two men come together to find new purpose outside of a dying family legacy, the haunting spirit of the lightkeeper’s wife reveals her horrible truth, and the nephew does what he can to save his uncle from a terrible fate.
