The Highway of Death

Route 101, a small highway winding through New Hampshire, has seen so many fatal car accidents that it’s known as the “Highway of Death.” The official causes are numerous: high speeds, narrow roadways, and heavy traffic. But residents of Derryfield whisper of another reason, of an unnatural thing in the wilderness along the highway.Will has recently returned to Derryfield to run his deceased father’s auto shop and care for his elderly mother. While out on a tow on Route 101, Will encounters a monstrous creature he can neither identify nor explain. He is joined by two others who share similar experiences: Erica, a newspaper reporter reckoning with the death of her brother in a fatal accident on 101, and Corey, a twelve year old boy struggling to understand why his mother left the family.All three are haunted by the thing they see along Route 101. As others begin investigating the mystery and the deaths keep mounting, Will, Erica, and Corey delve into the past of the highway and venture into the wilderness along it, risking their lives in an effort to stop that which stalks the Highway of Death.
