Damian has sinful desires that his status in society prevent him from seeing come to fruition. His solution is to isolate his wife from everyone so she can secretly bare a son- his canvas. Damian intends to raise his son to carry out these desires. He underestimates the mother's love for her offspring when she fights to protect her child. Damian's accomplices and his son also rebel against him but they cannot predict the extent which Damian's power and sinister nature reach. The story raises questions of morality, redemption, parent/child roles and if what we see is actually reality.
