At a time when the Roman Empire was at its most powerful a new threat began to ravage her people. As an unknown illness killed vast swaths of the Roman populace, the small cult of Glycon began to spread its influence, gaining legitimacy even within imperial ranks. This is the story of a young woman, Constantia, skilled in medicine and magic, and her first encounter with the cult of Glycon. Set against the reality of the Antonine Plague this work of fiction plays with themes of science, religion, mysticism and magic to weave a story around a young woman beginning to confront otherworldly dangers.
