In this new twist on an ancient story, Lycaon, grandson of Zeus and King of Pelasgia, has lost faith in the gods that blessed his bloodline. Once a lush and gorgeous land, Pelasgia has become a desert of vice, in which Lycaon and forty nine of his fifty sons have lost themselves. Wandering among them, hidden in the guise of a mortal traveler, Zeus, Lord of Olympus, has come to punish the king - but Lycaon would rather test the gods than submit to them. Only Nyctimus, the youngest of Lycaon's brood and the only innocent man among his brothers, may be able to save himself and his family name. But the consequences of divine wrath can be dire, and even the innocent may not escape unscathed.
