The whimsical seaside California town of Rose Port has seen better days. Founded by an eccentric Italian immigrant named Angelo de Rosa, its streets named for types of roses, it became a destination spot for tourists and the elite. Now, after decades of decline, barely recognizable from its glorious heyday, Rose Port faces a new threat to its survival in the form of a mysterious and sinister presence. Perched atop the bluffs near the town sits Roseville, a long-abandoned amusement park where the empty Pink Cat Cafe, once a popular spot for visitors, becomes the meeting place for a seventy-five-year-old widow and a seventeen-year-old boy who may hold the key to the town's fate. As Rose Port's annual Rose Festival approaches, the community prepares for its most lucrative event, unaware that a vengeful spirit from the past has plans for the town that may leave it forever changed.
