A trio of friends head up into the mountains for a long overdue camping trip, where they soon find themselves lost in the realm of the dead. Led by a brutal warlord, a group of servicemen are led through hellish atrocities, only to discover that the desert sands that surround them eventually consumes everything it touches. A gas station attendant comes face to face with Death in his attempt to find out the circumstances of his coworkers disappearance. An immortal, whose curse is the masochistic rages of lust personified, falls in love with the very creature that has the power to guide him through to the other side. And finally...a group of strangers gathered together in an abandoned house come to terms on why they have arrived there and with each other.
