Something is now watching from the trees. Young, Christina has followed her brothers into the woods. Two yellow eyes form high up in the "tree" where a butterfly flies around the mossy looking "tree" to right between the eyes, just about where a nose would be. The butterfly is too much for the "tree" and it tries to blow it off. Christina giggles and tells the "tree" it's funny. The "tree" can now be seen for what it truly is. Further into the woods, strange things are happening around Christina's brothers. Buddy their dog is on to something. There's a rustling in the reeds where red eyes are glowing near the pond. What happens next will haunt Christina for the rest of her life, never wanting to return. This terrifying expedition that will leave the readers of the book on the edge of their seat, wanting to turn the page to learn more of the path of fear and evil.
