Of The Flesh and of The Spirit

The last of The Shades was pleased to be free of the hateful corrupting influence of The Void of Endings. He was tempted to call himself a victor in the war of ancient spirits that had been waged there but knew how premature that would have been. He also knew he had an enemy left alive from that peculiar prison. He had an enemy he either had to destroy or come to terms with. Now that The Void had collapsed short of fulfilling its intended purpose he was free to wander the world again if he liked. That would have to wait of course and he knew it. He had to find another battlefield instead and do all he could to prepare it for what was coming. It had been nearly three thousand years since he'd been free to do whatever he wished with the mortals below and to some degree they had to be included in his plans. Thankfully he knew the world and he knew plenty when it came to the two legged ones who remained its rulers. He had to be thoughtful about them and everything else he encountered however for his war would resume as soon as his enemy found his way to him. It was because of that that the next phase of this war would be slightly different from how it had been before. It would start first with a battle of deception and temptation which would hopefully pave the way for the more important fight. That fight had seen a pause in its hostilities but soon enough the combat would resume as fiercely intense as it had ever been.
