Dean Gower had spent the last five years of his life in prison. On his release an old friend, Jack Wallis, provided him with a cottage on an old country estate; rolling hills, forests and the burn out shell of an old manor house called Mizbrook Hall at its heart. When Jack tells him about a centuries-old family legend, and a treasure, the Cross of Bones, concealed in the remains of an old farm house, now at the bottom of a reservoir, he reluctantly agrees to help recover the treasure. He soon discovers there is more to the legend than just treasure. People start to die, and Dean finds himself on the run, not just from the police, but from an ancient evil. All Dean wanted to do was rebuild his life, but fate had other ideas, his only way of ending the nightmare to follow his worst fears: To confront an ancient evil hidden deep below Mizbrook Hall.
