Sentenced to hang for robbery and murder, a slave-turned cowboy faces the gallows with all the courage he can muster. But when the trap door springs, instead of falling into eternity's darkest depths, he comes face to face with Samiel - the man he robbed and killed. Not knowing if he's alive or dead, or if Samiel is Satan or savior, the Cowboy becomes a slave yet again, with a shrewd and cunning Master who forces him down a trail that pushes him past any torment he has ever known. The Cowboy's life is no longer his own; he is forever bound to Samiel by a debt he can never repay - unless he uses the currency of his own life. Convinced he'll never know freedom in this life or any other, he gives in to Samiel's unique vision of doom and destruction. He hunts down men of Samiel's choosing, selfishly guarding his own survival by sacrificing that of others. But when his path takes an ominous turn that threatens those he loves, the Cowboy knows he can't spend the rest of his existence under Samiel's sinister enslavement. The first step in his tortuous road to redemption is to embrace the good and expose the evil lurking in the darker recesses of his being. The next step - defeating Samiel by overcoming his other-worldly ways - may be too big a step for him or any other man to take. Once he heads down that trail it could mean deliverance or damnation. Whatever the outcome, it's a fate for all eternity.
