A series of tornadoes have ripped through the English village of White Ladies. Laura Hastings, a photographer, is unsettled by the freak weather storms but looking forward to her Uncle Jeff visiting from his adopted home of Iowa. With him is Bill Sizemore, who used to run Sizemore Twister Tours in Iowa before a man was killed in his charge while storm chasing. Bill blames himself, turning to alcohol to drink himself into oblivion to forget. He is sceptical about Laura seeing the tornadoes but then realises that is no ordinary weather system. As Laura and Bill's friendship develop into something more they are faced with a series of grisly murders that are somehow linked to the tornado. Can Bill and Jeff stop the deaths of many innocent people and just what has Laura photographed coming out of the tornado?
