EDITORIALThis week we have a tale of strange terrors beneath the trees from Richard D Price, followed by a story of horrific acne from Gary Murphy and another article about Poe from Sandro D. Fossemò. Jeremiah Christopher tells us of an arch rationalist’s encounter with dark sorcery. The Days of Mr Thomas continues. In The Thousand and One Nights, King Sharrkan encounters a newlywed bride. Sam escapes after a serious spree in Cut, while Gregory KH Bryant has a short story about a miracle anti-ageing chemical. In The Iron Heel, the Oligarchs live in fear of the revolting Beast. And in Gulliver of Mars, the lieutenant encounters the magic of the Red Planet.CompetitionWe are currently running a competition to promote Samie Sands’ debut zombie novel, Lockdown, published by Triplicity Publishing:Lockdown: Leah’s practical joke has spiralled way out of control. Now everyone seems convinced that the apocalypse is coming - in the form of zombies. The government is calling the virus AM13, and is advising – or more like forcing - everyone to stay indoors while they ‘clean up the mess’. Leah tries to persuade everyone that it was all just a horrible mistake, however she starts to see there may be more truth to it all than she first thought.Samie Sands is a 28 year old freelance graphic designer who has recently decided to follow her lifelong dream and use her creativity in a new way by writing.She has a degree in Media Studies and PR and has already had articles published in a number of e-zines, including one of the most popular pieces at Zombie Guide Magazine. Alongside her debut novel Lockdown, she has also had short stories included in a number of successful projects.She lives in a small seaside town in the UK, but loves to travel to gain inspiration from new places and different cultures.
