About the Author

When it became obvious that a cruel combination of excellent nutrition and genetics had ruined her chance of becoming a successful horse jockey, Suzanne Linda dedicated herself to more creative pursuits. Temporarily abandoning these endeavors to graduate Magna cum Laude with a B.S. in Zoology, she eventually came to acknowledge that her muse would not be silenced by a research career. With an overlarge backpack as companion, she circled the globe for nearly half a year before spending the next decade sampling various aquatic professions (including show diver, lifeguard, snorkel instructor, harbormaster's assistant, and deckhand) in an attempt to satisfy her secondary dream of becoming a mermaid.
