It is 1929 and Evangeline Bishop is dying. Her family is notified and they make their way , from different corners of the country, to the Louisiana plantation perched on the banks of the Mississippi River. Evangeline is a wealthy woman and the family expects to witness her death and, more importantly, the reading of her will. Their expectations do not prepare them for what they find. The grounds are in ruin. The manor house is a dusty and moldering heap, steeped in family history, with a provocative and sinister life of its own. Dark magic is afoot. The household servants are … peculiar. As Evangeline stubbornly holds onto life, her family begins to experience strange and terrifying visions. They turn on each other in confusion, greed and rage. In the end, they just want to go home.
