Brandon Lauder is a twenty eight year old divorcee living the American dream; working a dead-end government job while surviving paycheck to paycheck. His day to day existence is a steady procession of angry phone calls and missed faxes held aloft by the promise of happy hour. His hobbies include memorizing lines from famous zombie movies, chronic porn surfing, and inventing his own drinks. If, indeed, Brandon has a flaw in his well-maintained existence, it’s only that he occasionally gets blood in his alcohol system. One night after stumbling out of a bar he follows the sound of a distant siren, and finds his life has reached a dead end. Brandon’s met a special new friend, and as it turns out, his new friend's hobbies include fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish. If, indeed, this new friend has a flaw in his well-maintained existence, it’s only that he can never find a big enough match to satiate his desire for destruction.
