The Turn of the Screw

The Turn of the Screw is a renowned horror novella written by American-born British author Henry James, the work was originally published in Collier's Weekly between January and April 1898. The story follows a governess who, caring for two children at a remote estate, comes to believe that one of the children's expulsion from school has a terrible secret behind it, and due to strange figures, she becomes convinced that the grounds of the estate are haunted. The Turn of the Screw is considered a masterpiece of both Gothic and horror fiction, and the crown in Henry James' career as a writer.
