Closing the Circle (Midnight Never Ending)

Charlie's heart opened when he made love with his best friend behind the P.E. building. However, along with her trust, Nellie gave him the secret of her victimization. When she killed her brother, and then herself, Charlie was unable to let her parents live on, since he knew they were guilty of sitting blindly by while their family destroyed itself.Unable to deal with what he had done, Charlie hid inside Who Ever He Was, and learned how to live in isolating Midnight. In that darkness he found another fugitive to love, but their tale ended with her sacrifice so that he could live on.He met Sylvia, but the strain of the dramatic circumstances she was trying to emerge from broke apart their passionate embrace. With his next love he made his daughter, but lost an eye defending himself from robbers. A childhood love led him into adultery, and the Mother of his child ended her life rather than live without his fidelity.Years later he cheated on his childhood love too, and Sylvia found him again, now with a daughter of her own. Struggling to keep their daughters fed while he continued to live as a fugitive, Who Ever He Was is approached by his dying Grandmother, who wants him to care for her at her end.In this final volume of Charlie's odyssey through darkness, Sylvia must decide if his love is worth the stress his lifestyle causes her. Can she trust and accept the man that he has become to survive, when she only truly loves Charlie, the better half buried within him? Can Charlie rise to the challenge of closing a nurturing circle around his Grandmother, Sylvia, and the girls, or will the Midnight that Who Ever He Was shepherded Charlie through prove too deep to escape from?Closing the Circle is the fourth and final volume of the Midnight Never Ending Series.

About the Author

Daniel Goldsmith was born in Southern California in 1971. He grew up in a wasteland of sunrises and sets called Yucca Valley. He began writing stories in fourth grade, and added poems to his repertoire in tenth. On a bus from UC Santa Cruz to his desert home the first chapter of Midnight Never Ending spilled out of him, but remained unpublished for over twenty years while he taught English and worked at golf courses. The Midnight Muse finally found him again just before 2016 began, and he has spent most of his free time since then turning that first chapter into the 611 page novel (in four installments) Midnight Never Ending. Midnight Ending and A New Beginning are the second and third parts. As happy as he is with this creative project, it is only the second best thing he ever made. His sixteen year old son Evan takes first place, sharing his apartment with the author in Rockville Maryland. The authors early poetry is also available from Createspace.com: Volume I: Words of the Wanderer.
