The Crooked House (The Lilith Chronicles Book 1)

A psychic reading gone awry. Dreams that hold terrifying glimpses of the future. A dark and foreboding house that defies description. Something terrible is coming to the gothic, southern Oregon town of Linkville. Psychic orphan Lilith St. John has recently left the foster system and is struggling to make it on her own. But now her dreams warn of something terrible that she can't quite remember upon awakening. And she feels something in the shadows, watching. When a psychic reading draws the attention of dark forces, Lilith finds herself stalked and terrorized by an otherworldly menace. With few resources and fewer friends, Lilith can do little to protect herself as supernatural terror spreads into her life, culminating in a brutal attack. Lilith awakens in The Crooked House, a ramshackle maze of shattered dreams and tortured souls ruled over by a hidden, malevolent force. Trapped in the mystifying labyrinth, Lilith is hunted by the terrible creatures that roam the night while hiding from the nameless monster upstairs. Can Lilith master her psychic powers and solve the mystery of The Crooked House or will she be trapped wandering its haunted corridors for eternity?Book I of the Lilith Chronicles.

About the Author

John A. Longeway has a life-long love of speculative fiction which began with watching reruns of Star Trek and The Wizard of Oz as a tiny, impressionable child, whose brain was permanently warped. An ill-advised reading of "The Amityville Horror" and "The Exorcist" during the summer of his 10th year further scarred him and left a fascination with the occult and esoteric. John credits his comfort with topics such as madness to his family of origin, who are the weirdest bunch of people you are likely to meet. He sadly acknowledges that he is likely the strangest of the lot. John enjoys writing the gamut of speculative fiction, ranging from soft sci-fi to classic fantasy to modern fantasy to horror. John's books reflect his dual Gemini nature---Some are light-hearted and fun, while others are dark and frightening. He is hopeful his readers can tell the difference between the two.
