About the Author

Kaaren Terry is from San Diego, California and traded living in the big city for life in the small mountain community of Julian. She lives with her husband, and their two schnauzers, secluded in the forest. She grew up listening to the history of Julian from her Nana, and after extensive research, she discovered many of the descendants have remained on the mountain and retained their pioneer spirit by refusing the fast track. Commuting to the city constantly reminds her of the dichotomy of the two lifestyles, and the people who have chosen each. This has spawned a flood of fictitious characters and events making this the first novel in an expected series of stories set in this historic gold mining town.
