The airship glided slowly over the city. It passed over numerous clumps of buildings of various heights and shapes and several stands of trees, some located on the rooftops of those various buildings. Over one of many reservoirs that provided water for the city the airship cast a shadow on waters shimmering in the reflected light of the planet’s three moons. Its electric steering fans barely registered a sound in the dark summer night sky. Not that anyone would have noticed. The airship was equipped with the latest in stealth technology which made it virtually invisible. Its dark colored hull acted as camouflage as well, although few people in the capital looked skyward in summer after the sun set. For them, it was the partying, the revelry, and fun of the summer that mattered. it was the only escape from the dull, mind-numbing day-to-day existence of Altruria under the tyranny and salutary neglect of the Autokrator Mikhail Tremoúla, better known as Mikhail the Trembler.
