Of all the Roads Unlimited drivers, Blake "Mythos" Matheson is the one most at home with the strange and unknown. In fact he's pretty much a scholar on things like aliens, ghosts, monsters, parallel realities, etc. But that doesn't mean he's ready for anything that comes his way...particularly when it arrives in the form of four men who can generate and manipulate tornadoes at will. Arriving in blink-and-miss-it Locotty, Missouri to flattened buildings and residences and a vanished populace save for a single body wedged in a fork high up a wind-stripped tree, Mythos realizes his rendezvous with an enigmatic stranger won't be happening and sets about figuring out what's going on. Running into a frightening, shapeshifting non-human acquaintance whose life he once saved, he calls in the owed return favor and so ends up tracking the source of Locotty's destruction to the similarly tiny Arizona community of Playco. The buildings are intact there, but as in Missouri the town's populace seems to have vanished into hot, dusty air. The town's not completely unpopulated though: The Twister Men are waiting for him, and so is the utterly strange and terrifying entity that has given them their powers.Fifth in the series of fantastic and freaky tales of the RU drivers, "The Twister Men" vastly expands the arena with global implications to its outcome as Mythos finds himself in a spot to do the world a tremendous service--or, quite possibly, send it down the road to oblivion.
