A CONVERGENCE OF ANGELS is a reincarnation story; it's a murder mystery; it's a romance; it's a comedy; it's a tale about angels. All of these plot lines center around Constance Proctor, a recent divorcee who, in a burst of menopausal moodiness, absconds with her ex-husband's art collection to open a gallery in Old Mesilla, New Mexico. There she experiences déjà vu and flashbacks of overlapping time periods, for she and the other characters have lived before--once in the 1860's in this very place. The angels have converged in Old Mesilla as well, trying to help the characters avoid the mistakes that in past lives have led to murder.Constance also must wrestle with her own ill humor, her recalcitrant adult daughter, her anger with ex-husband Richard--and her longing for him, as well as her growing and somehow disturbing attraction for Gabriel--whom she does not realize is an angel. She and the other souls will eventually have to learn the truth, however, if one of them is to avoid being guilty once more of murder.
