The Sleep Monster: A New Friend

This rhyming book is about the Sleep Monster who is peeking underneath the child's bed, when the child happens into the room. The monster just wants a playmate and playfully springs onto the rocking chair and starts singing and dancing. Sleep Monster invites the child to "join right in", so the child and sleep monster dance and sing a song together counting up to ten. The numbers in the short song are colorful and have the amount of monster eyes according to the number. After singing together, the child and sleep monster have big sleepy eyes and are ready for bedtime. The sleep monster sleepily crawls underneath the bed and the child follows by crawling under the blanket on the bed. The child is delighted the monster has decided to stay. This is a bedtime story sure to delight the child who is at the stage of thinking about monsters and who is just learning or has learned to count. This story is best suited for ages 2-5.
