The Frozen Grail: and Other Poems

First published in 1910, Elsa Barker's "The Frozen Grail and other Poems" contain the majority of her published poetry up to that time. The poem for which the book gets is name was penned by Barker in commemoration of Robert Peary's expedition to the North Pole. It was published in the NEW YORK TIMES on the day of the expedition's departure, and was on Peary's person when he reached the pole. Barker also worked at Hampton's Magazine at the time, and was the editor in charge of the feature story on Peary's adventure. The remainder of this collection (60 poems in all) is deeply reflective of Ms. Barker's self-identity, as poet, mystic, alien misfit, seeker, occult adept, and friend.
