Test subject 175 escapes from KOVAR Labs and bolts into the woods. Moments before collapsing from dehydration he drinks from a tainted water source and ingests a bacteria that kills him. Being brought to life by unnatural means, the bacteria mutates inside him and reanimates his brain. He comes back to life carrying a highly contagious virus and wanders aimlessly through the woods. Three weeks later, after traveling over 20 miles, the zombie falls in the outskirts of Jefferson City. Timothy Johnson, a 12 year old middle school kid, thinks he sees a dead body on the way to the bus stop before school, but when he gets near, it comes to life and attacks him. Timothy is able to slip away from its grasp, but test subject 175 scratches him on the leg. The school bus arrives, Timothy gets on.
