Every outbreak starts somewhere... A young girl, admitted tot he hospital with was was assumed to be a particularly violent strain of the flu narrates her experiences as she slowly succumbs to a mystery illness. She is reduced to a nameless subject, affectionately called "Zero" by her doctor, desperate to save her. Dehumanized and reduced to a series of charts and tests, Zero takes the reader on a journey through her suffering, and her acceptance of her illness. Will her doctors be able to save her before the sickness takes her?
