During the summer of 1987, four minor criminals spend a night in jail with a corpse pulled from a river. The morgue road is flooded so the body is dropped at the justice center until the rain stops. Their situations as minor criminals are strange, funny, and sad. They are lost souls with no real future beyond this rainy night and the next smoke. Simon Dawson is the lead character. He is spending the night in jail for writing a bad rent check. No one knows the corpse has been lost from a government weapons project, RedAngel4. The project enforcers will try to find it and eliminate any witnesses. When Jesse, one of the prisoners, pokes his toe against the corpse's teeth, a full blown terror begins. The power goes off, trapping several people in the holding cell. The prisoners and their jailers now face the longest one bad night of their lives.
