Brynn Ryder, a small-town deputy, has a dark, questionable past. She transferred to the town of Riverbrook to escape her demons but soon finds herself assisting Sheriff Jason Knight with a string of occult-like murders. All of the victims have something in common: a strange symbol carved into their chest. As the Sheriff and Deputy learn more about their victims, they learn that there is more to this case than meets the eye, and that beauty is only skin deep.
