A U.S. Navy veteran, severely injured during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, finds a job as a handyman at an isolated household in the Cascade Mountains of Washington. There, along with a young Native woman from Canada, he discovers what he had previously considered to be unyielding reality is not always the same as another’s, and that what might be a product of a person’s psyche in one reality may turn out be the ultimate terror for the other.
