About the Author

D.L. Holliday was born and raised in Southern Tennessee. A child of the 50's and 60's, she grew up in a time of innocence. With the lack of electronic devices that are so prevalent today, she developed a love of reading at a young age. Her favorites were mysteries such as, Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden and the Hardy Boys to name a few. Although mysteries were her genre of preference, she read all genres. The love of reading led her to realize she also had a knack for weaving stories. A writer since childhood she finally developed her Farra Morgan series, which is geared toward juvenile readers in hopes to encourage the young mind to learn to love reading as much as she. Married to her high-school sweetheart for 46 years, they have raised their own three children and are enjoying the four grandchildren that have followed. While developing Farra Morgan, D.L. borrowed the names, personalities and characteristics of those four grandchildren. Although writing and family are two things that give her the most pleasure, she also continues to work at a Licensed Practical Nurse. Licensed since 1984, D.L. has worn many hats in the medical field. One such honor was proudly serving the public of Tennessee four nine years on the Tennessee Board of Nursing. Today she enjoys continuing her employment as a nurse, as she pursues her love of writing, attending speaking engagements and author meet and greets. Her greatest enjoyment comes from encouraging young readers and prospective future writers. The Farra Morgan series is reminiscent of the Nancy Drew, Trixie Belden genre but set in present day and in Southern Tennessee locations. These books reflect the same values and innocence of those series, and are loved by juveniles and adults alike.
